At our clinic, we prioritize emergency cases and ensure you are seen the same day, so you can receive the care you need without delay. If you experience a dental emergency, contact us right away—our team is here to help.
Common dental emergencies include:
Toothaches: Severe, persistent pain may indicate an infection, cavity, or other dental issues that need immediate attention.
Chipped or broken teeth: A cracked or broken tooth can lead to pain, sensitivity, and even infection if not treated. It's important to protect the broken area until you reach our clinic.
Knocked-out tooth: Acting quickly can often save a knocked-out tooth. If possible, place the tooth back in its socket or keep it moist until you arrive.
Lost filling or crown: When a filling or crown falls out, the exposed area can be sensitive and vulnerable to further damage. Keep it protected and bring the piece with you if you have it.
Abscesses and infections: An abscessed tooth or gum infection can be very painful and requires immediate treatment to prevent complications.
What to do before coming in
If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, call our office immediately so we can prepare for your arrival. While waiting, here are some quick steps to manage pain and protect your tooth:
For pain relief, use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek or take over-the-counter pain relievers (but avoid aspirin, as it can increase bleeding).
If you have a knocked-out tooth, gently rinse it with water and place it back in the socket if possible, or keep it moist in milk. Hold the tooth only by the crown and make sure to not touch the root ends. Time is essential so make sure to come see us right away
Avoid chewing on the affected area, and if a tooth is broken, cover sharp edges with dental wax or a piece of sugarless gum.
